A study of the methodology for credibility assessment of historical global LUCC datasets has been published in SCIENCE CHINA Earth Sciences recently. It proposed a methodological framework that addresses temporal as well as spatial changes in the amount and distribution of land cover and outlined four approaches based on the accuracy, rationality and likelihood assessments illustrated through five case studies.
